ABOUT
Award-winning guitarist, composer and vocalist
Adam Taylor started his musical journey in rock bands as a teenager and as his musical exploration grew, he moved into jazz.
Originally from the U.K, Adam travelled to Europe to receive a master’s in jazz in 2017. Through performing across Europe and recording both as a solo artist and a sideman, Adam continued to develop musically and began to explore his cultural roots through music.
He began to write more folk-orientated music and spent years studying the art of songwriting. With all of this musical activity throughout his life, Adam Taylor now writes music that seeks to synthesise all of the elements and sounds that have a place in his heart and history.
Adam Taylor’s music has a familiar yet unique feel. With elements of jazz, folk, pop and classical music, his writing and playing reflect his broad church approach to music. Some notable influences include the likes of Pat Metheny, Julian Lage and Brad Mehldau amongst others.
Adam has won several awards for his playing and writing, including the Eric Kershaw Memorial Prize, the Jimmy Woode Award and the Nordhorn Guitar Competition.
